I'm finally joining the TBR Intervention, hosted by Refracted Light Reviews, Whatever You Can Still Betray and Books for Juliet.
My TBR pile is actually pretty small these days, but there are a few books on it that I need to read. I'm so embarrassed to admit that one of these books is by one of my favorite authors, Melina Marchetta. I loved Saving Francesca, Waiting for Alibrandi, and Jellicoe Road.
When I got an ARC of The Piper's Son, I was thrilled.
So why is this book still on my pile?? For a few reasons. Piper's Son features characters from Saving Francesca, so I was debating whether or not to re-read that first. Also, I know that Marchetta's books require my full attention and often a box of kleenex to boot.
But, seriously, what have I been waiting for? I'm diving into this book now!
Nice! Can't wait to see a review!!:)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the TBR Intervention fun and good luck on your reads! Here is my TBR.
ReplyDeleteGood choice! Thomas Mackee's an awesome character :)
ReplyDeleteWelcome on board!
ReplyDeleteThis author is not familiar to me, but the cover is catching! I hope you'll enjoy it, I know I'll be looking forward to your review.
Happy reading!
Ron @ Stories of my life
PS. Don't worry about a small TBR... It'll grow. Those little monsters have life of their own I swear...
@Ron Yep, I got my pile way down over Thanksgiving weekend. But I know that it will shoot up again in no time...
ReplyDeletehaha I do the same thing!!! I think sometimes its because I'm afraid a book won't be as good as I was imagining it to be. So I put it off. But I think sometimes when I put it off it makes it even worse! Because my anticipation of it all that time makes it impossible for a book to live up to! I had started participating in this a while back and just forgot to. This was a big reminder to start again! Hope you enjoy reading your book! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Melina Marchetta. I will have to look through her books. Best of luck this week.
ReplyDeleteHmm! This book looks interesting! :) I put off books that I'm dying to read as well. I actually am doing that with The clockwork Prince right now. I think it stems from the fact that I enjoy the anticipation and once I'm finished with the book, I have to wait another 6-12 months for the next Cassandra Clare book. I just don't want it to be over AND, like you said, I want to devote my whole attention to it, so I keep putting it off. So, I hope you enjoy your book this week! Good luck! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm glad that we have you on board :) I hope you'll enjoy TBRIC, it's a small group it's fun to read some dusty books again and encourage each and everyone every week.
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to know that you like Melinda Marchetta. I haven't read any of her books but Jellicoe Road had caught my attention ever since. It's on my TBR pile for long time now and maybe I can use it for my future TBRIC :)
The Piper's Son looks good and I hope you'll enjoy it. Let us know at you think when you finish it... good luck and enjoy!
xoxo, April
