YA Books That Take Place in One Night

Melanie over at Reclusive Bilbiophile runs a feature called "If You Like."

Every Monday, she picks a theme, and bloggers try to come up with books and movies and TV shows that fit. I love trying to come up with as many examples as I can.

This week's topic: Stories That Take Place in One Night

Great topic -- don't some nights seem to have enough excitement crammed into them for a whole lifetime?!
Here's my list:

One Night That Changes Everything by Lauren Barnholdt

Eliza keeps a hidden notebook of things she's afraid to do, and it's stolen by a secret boys' society at her school, who are determined to make her do every terrifying thing on her list.

Ditched by Robin Mellom

It's The Hangover for YA. The book opens as Justina is pushed out of a car in a stained dress the morning after prom and has to figure out what happened.

Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley
See my review here.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn

I love this book. Not only is it a book set in New York City that gets everything right, it's just funny and cool and completely amazing. Please read it if you haven't!

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith

See my review here.

Can you think of any more? Then head over to Reclusive Bibliophile and see what other people came up with...

  3. This seems fun. And great picks for books. One Night That Changes Everything was such a fun crazy read. I love how the whole time Eliza just wants her notebook back but at the same time does everything on the list and realizes she has confidence to do things she didn't think she could. The Statistical Probabilitly of Love at First Sight was so cute but emotional at the same time. Hadley and Oliver were adorable and realistic. The whole story was great and both these books I will read more times in the future.

  4. Sorry!! It is up now: http://www.reclusivebibliophile.com/if-you-like-stories-that-take-place-within-24-hours

It normally will be up Monday mornings, but my housemates had a giant Superbowl party yesterday and it threw off my schedule (darn football), so didn't get a chance to post until after work today.

Thanks for your recs. Hope people will stop by and share lots more in the comments :)

  8. All I could think of is Before I fall by lauren Oliver, but it doesn't really fit this theme because I think it's one day that is repeated. Been a long time since I read.
