This week's mailbox was a little quiet. But that's okay, because I have a massive TBR pile.
BOUGHT: Starters. The cover is so pretty (shiny silver with raised lettering) and so creepy. Reminds me of:
I actually made a whole "crazy-eyes" page on Pinterest. It's here.
WON: The audiobook of Tempest .... I actually won something! I hold all these giveaways but never win any. I was soooo excited.
Thanks to Jasmine of A Room With Books for hosting the giveaway!
What's on top of your TBR pile?
How did you buy Starters already? I thought it didn't come out until 3/13. The Hardcover looks awesome and shiny! I am reading it right now on my nook (from NetGalley) Yay for winning things! I have the audio of Tempest too. I heard it's really good, I just haven't gotten to it yet.
ReplyDeleteOkay, first of all -- whoops. I meant the IMM post to go up tomorrow.
DeleteAs for Starters, I was at the bookstore talking to the bookseller about stuff I was waiting for and she pulled that out from behind the counter like a magician. Maybe it was a review copy??
Moral of the story: I know some people have to buy all their books online because they don't have bookstores near them, but if you do have great bookstores nearby, it really pays to get to know booksellers. They are great and love to talk books with you!
Okay I have to say that the picture of the kids with the red eyes is creepy!

Sorry to creep you out. I have never seen that move (Children of the Corn) but the poster of it made quite an impression on me. I think it gave me nightmares.

DeleteStarters looks really good! I hope you enjoy everything you got this week! Come check out my IMM!

Did you see the movie? Maybe I'll have to get it on Netflix. It has nothing to do with the book, but I do like creepy stuff...
DeleteI'm glad you won something congrats. I read Tempest awhile ago, haven't heard the audiobook but I hope it's good. The story is awesome.

Deletehaha Village of the Damned scared the crap out of me. Nothing is scarier than little children. I swear any scary movie with children is a hundred times scarier than one with just adults. But Starters looks great and I still need to read Tempest too! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMy IMM
I haven't seen that one but I remember a book called the Bad Seed about this little kid who was a sociopath. She could get away with anything because no one suspected her. Creepy!!!!
DeleteI finally got my hands on a copy of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer! I know it's a little late but I guess we were like two ships passing in the night...
ReplyDeleteOoh, let me know what you think. That one has a wicked cliffhanger!!
DeleteStarters reminds me of village of the damned to! OMG that movie freaked me right out as a kid haha :) I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI still haven't seen that movie!!
DeleteI'm so jealous of your finished Starters! I've been dying to read it.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteGrats on winning Tempest! I tried to listen to an audiobook before, but I'd much rather read or watch something than just listen...maybe it was just the audiobook I was listening to!?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Starters has such a cool cover and it is creepy! That photo, eeep. ^_^ Are you going to write a review for Starters ASAP or closer to the release date?
This week I received a few books I won from contests, Legions, Half-Blood, and an ARC of Never Eighteen. I'm gonna start Half-Blood probably tomorrow or the next day and I'm excited! I just bought Daimon today so I will be starting that tomorrow.
I will review Starters in early March -- I'm kicking off dystopian/Hunger Games theme for 2 weeks! And a Hunger Games giveaway :)
DeleteThat is creeepy looking! I just picked up a ton of books at the library that I had requested, some of which are Scarlet, Fracture, Incarnate, and Everneath. I can't wait to read them!
ReplyDeleteThose are all great -- haven't read Incarnate. Let me know what you think!!
DeleteStarters looks sooo good! I can't wait for my copy. Hahaah that pic creeped me out!
