In My Mailbox 12

In My Mailbox was started as a YA book blog feature by The Story Siren in November 2009. Haul videos are nothing new; fashionistas have been posting them on YouTube since at least 2007.

I had a quiet mailbox this week. Which is okay, considering that I have a ton of April and May releases to get to.

I bought Spellbound from Barnes and Noble
young adult books, paranormal

Last fall I got an ARC of Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.  I made the mistake of trading it away without reading it. Then I felt like a complete idiot, because I kept hearing how great it was. As fate would have it, I got offered another ARC, this one with a completely different cover.

EDITED because so many of you are curious about this strange cover. On Laini Taylor's blog, she shows this blue lady cover and calls it the ARC cover. Maybe it got changed to the feather mask version? Maybe this ARC I have is an old one? A collectors' item LOL!

Whatever the case, I'm definitely going to read it!

What's new in your TBR pile this week?

  21. I'm dying to read Spellbound (my library doesn't have it yet - can you believe that?)! I read D of S & B. I liked it, but if you want clean it's borderline (I think you'll be fine with it, others may not be). The writing is very good and the plot is very creative. Good luck!

    1. I wasn't sure my library was going to buy it, so I bought it.
Not so concerned with the clean factor -- I just do that for others who may be looking for books for their kids. But I'm not sure I'll continue that in my reviews -- I find it hard to keep track of swearing especially :)

  22. Okay, I love both of your books! I've been dying to read Spellbound, especially with Demonglass' killer cliffhanger! And yes yes yes, go read DoSB! It is AMAZING, I tell you! Definitely the most unique book, ever! And wow, I really do think you have a collector's item there! :P

(I have a question- is the captcha in my blog really gone when you left the comment? I had no idea it was turned on- I tried to disable it, but not sure if it really got disabled.)

And ah, I envy you for being able to read Spellbound already. :P And that's how I feel- only one of my friends reads YA, so its so frustrating to be not able to talk about books! :P
