This past week's drama aside, I've been wondering whether a "mailbox" feature is the right fit for my blog.
So over the past few Sundays, I've been experimenting with new stuff, like giving you a peek at my upcoming blogging schedule.
I got great feedback on that, so I'm going to try out a new Extra! Extra! feature on Sundays.
It will basically just be things I'm excited about in the week to come -- new TBR additions plus the week's blog calendar. To see where the inspiration comes for all my blog features, go to my Blog Features page.
I would love to visit your blog today whether you do IMM, Mailbox Monday, Stacking the Shelves, or whatever. If you leave me a link, I'll stop by!
This week is all about NetGalley. Holy Smokes, there's a lot of good stuff on there. Here's batch one. I'll save the awesome Random House and HarperTeen stuff for next week.
Click on the red title to get to the book's Goodreads page....
Glitch by Heather Anastasiu
Timepiece by Myra McEntire
Dark Companion by Marta Acosta
Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin
Gilt by Katherine Longshore
Dead Time by Anne Cassidy
Huge thanks to St. Martin's, Egmont, Macmillan, Tanglewood, Penguin, and Bloomsbury! I can't wait to read these!
Then, I brought a big pile of stuff home from the bookstore yesterday, including....
Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready. Eeek! So excited!
What's coming up next week on the blog? REALLY exciting stuff!
Monday: I'm doing a round-up feature on angel books. Yes, the much-talked-about Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins will be in the angelic mix....
Tuesday kicks off the Spring Fling Blog Hop. I'll be giving away the winner's choice of a bunch of great May titles. Hop by and enter!
ALSO check out Hot off the Presses, my usual Tuesday feature, and find some great new stuff for your TBR.
Wednesday: a review of Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa. This book has vampires AND my dreaded zombies. Is it possible that it captured my heart?
Thursday: Review day. Perhaps a sassy contemporary...
Friday: TGIF features literary vacations. I feel like I could use one of those!
What are you reading? What are you looking forward to this week?
I got some of the same titles on NetGalley this week. I'm reading Timepiece now (LOVING it:) I haven't read any of the Shade/Shift/Shine books yet, I suppose I need to get on that...And I look forward to your thoughts on The Immortal Rules!
ReplyDeleteLike your 'Extra Extra' theme, right clever of you:)
My Upcoming Reads
Well, I don't get books in my mailbox. I get them in my inbox, and haul them home from my most excellent independent bookstore.
DeleteExcept Insurgent, which I hope will be in front of my door bright and early Tuesday morning. Monday night?? Please???
This is a great post! I like seeing what you got and what is coming up next week. I did a weekly recap with what was on my blog the past week and the books I got. I pre-ordered Insurgent for my Nook so I would be able to read it right away. I will get the physical copy too, but at least with the nook one there is no waiting for it to get here.
ReplyDeleteWeekly Recap
I love the recap posts! It's hard to stop by a blog every single day and that way you can see if you missed anything!
DeleteI'm going to keep tinkering with the concept. Maybe I'll include books I'm planning to read in the week to come. I like the look-ahead posts because they force me to do stuff.
I also like mixing things up -- keeps me from getting into a blogging slump :)
I am excited to read Timepiece and Glitch too! This is a great feature and I am really looking forward to your round up on angel books!! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYou can check out what books I got Here!!
I did check out your books!!
DeleteNice. I like it.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any in my mailbox type of post, but I do have some video game love.

Okay, I loved that post so much. I didn't even know it was possible to romance a video game character!
DeleteCan I just say how jealous I am that you got Shine?! I can't wait to get this in the mail! Really looking forward to your review of The Immortal Rules (I'm STILL waiting for Amazon to ship my copy) & your Angel post! Sweet Evil is definitely on my TBR :-) And of course I'm excited about the Spring Fling Blog Hop! hehe :-)
ReplyDeleteMy bookstore tends to put stuff out early --- LOVE them!!!
DeleteBut not Insurgent :(
Sweet Evil will definitely appear in the Hop AND in a Freebie Friday!!
Yay! That's great news!! :-)
DeleteI can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this idea for Sundays! I say stick with it.
:D
I agree -- I think next week I'll add great new stuff bloggers can request on NetGalley and Edelweiss: what is it and why should you join up...
DeleteI just don't have enough Mailboxy news. I've always felt that way LOL.
Yaay, I love that button for your feature. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteAnd when it comes to the books... what a great haul! I received Ashen Winter two weeks or so ago, and have to read the first in series but it looks amazing. :D
Enjoooy the reading!
I haven't read book #1 either but I'm putting it on hold at the library!
DeleteGreat haul! I also got Glitch and Timepiece.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy yout books!
My IMM
I saw that! Very excited for those two!

Love the way you mixed books and beauty! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteOh man I really want Glitch and Timepiece but I was trying to not request anything else! LOL I have so many books to read. Thanks for stopping by my book stack!
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to stop by your blog!!
DeleteNice haul! I really want to read Glitch. I found out about Timepiece being a "Read Now" title on NetGalley and I signed up immediately! So excited for that, but I'm going to reread Hourglass first. And I got Shine recently! I've heard great things about that series! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMy SiBW/IMM post
Actually - I got Shade, not Shine. ;)
DeleteI always get the order mixed up!!!!
DeleteAhhhhh Shine! Zogan! :) Hope you enjoy your goodies lady! I can't wait to read Dark Compassion! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Zogan thing cracks me up, even thought I'm not entirely sure what it means.....
DeleteI read ASHFALL by Mike Mullin & thought it was great, so ASHEN WINTER is one I will definitely read.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that Ashfall is really good, so I'm excited to read that first and then dig into this one!
DeleteOh gosh, I feel so bad I'm STILL reading Bloodlines... I seriously would pick it up one day a week and wouldn't pick it up the rest of the week...
ReplyDeleteI'm also reading Forgiving Trinity by Liz Reinhardt...
So... Busy... So... Stressed... Ugh... I would be so happy when the semester is over!
It's okay -- sometimes life gets in the way of reading. It happens :)
DeleteI love this feature. I have to do some post and schedule planning, but I think I want to participate next week! Also, I can not wait to hear what you think about Glitch!
ReplyDeleteI'm still working out what this Sunday feature will be, but i'm excited about it!
DeleteGreat book haul this week! I can't wait to read Glitch!! Dark Companion, Gilt, and Dead Time sound great too. I'll have to check them out. Happy reading!
