In My Mailbox 14

What was in my mailbox this week?

In My Mailbox was started as a YA book blog feature by The Story Siren in November 2009. Haul videos are nothing new; fashionistas have been posting them on YouTube since at least 2007.

If you're celebrating today -- Happy Easter!

Glad you stopped by -- what's more fun than talking about shiny new books?

For me, this week was an exciting combo of books bought, borrowed and won!

I bought these two at my favorite independent bookstore:

The Sweetheart of Prosper County by Jill Alexander.

Back in 2011 I raved on the blog about Jill Alexander's book Paradise in my Best Books of 2011 That You Might Not Have Read. This is an earlier book of hers and I'm excited to check it out.

Ghost Flower by Michele Jaffe. Did you miss my review of the book? Click the red text to read it.

Then, as I mentioned Tuesday, I won a copy of Grave Mercy from Andrea @ Busy Bibliophile. I just finished reading that --it was good!

From the library, I got Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard.

How was your week? What did you read, and what's next on deck?

What's coming up this week on my blog?

Tuesday I'm continuing my new feature -- Hot off the Presses -- brand new YA releases for the coming week.

Hot new young adult releases

Wednesday: Divergent trivia and giveaway!

Divergent Trivia

Thursday: my review of Grave Mercy (see above) AND a new feature...
Freebie Friday! Because who doesn't love free stuff?

Now... tell me what's new with you!

    1. I decided I can't harass a pigeon (or any feathered, furry, or fluffy creature) on Easter.
The A/C unit comes out in about two months, so I may be stuck with my new roomies until then...

  5. I haven't read Grave Mercy yet because I heard some not good things about it from a blogger. But then everyone else loved it so I think I'm just gonna push through and read it anyways! And the Sweetheart of Prosper County was so cute! I read it last year and really enjoyed it! :) Looking forward to your review on Grave Mercy this week!!!

    1. If you like historical fiction, I think you'll like it.
It's not really very YA-ish, so maybe that person just had different expectations. It happens!

Looking forward to my two country girl books: Sweetheart of PC and Queen of Kentucky. Maybe I'll review them together ;)

  8. I just finished Wanderlove last night and I loved it (ha!). I could have just been me but I really related to the characters and the story brought me back to the month I spent in Nicaragua. I wasn't a cool backpacker, I was just fulfilling my community service requirement for high school but my time there was thrilling and life changing and definitely changed my perspective about many things from then on.

Anyway, I am excited to read your review of Grave Mercy. That book has been on my brain! And freebie Friday! Bring it on!
