In My Mailbox was started as a YA book blog feature by The Story Siren in November 2009. Haul videos are nothing new; fashionistas have been posting them on YouTube since at least 2007.
Lots of exciting books this week.
In the ARC department:
I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga
Waking Storms by Sarah Porter
I bought these:
Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour
From the library:
Temptation of Angels by Michelle Zink
Drowning Instinct by Ilsa J. Bick
I loved Ilsa Bick's first book, Ashes. Except for the zombies. Not sure if there are any zombies in Drowning Instinct. Let's hope not....
What's up on the blog in the coming week?
Monday: I'm reading The Disenchantments, which is amazing so far, so I'm doing a post highlighting books about bands.
Tuesday: another exciting installment of Hot off the Presses, in which I feature hot new YA releases of the coming week!
Wednesday: review of Masque of the Red Death By Bethany Griffin
Thursday: review of Unraveling By Elizabeth Norris
Friday I'm participating in TGIF-- and doing another Freebie Friday.
All week long: Divergent Trivia and Insurgent giveaway! Scroll down to the post below this one to see today's question.

DeleteOooh ... nice books! The Masque of the Red Death looks really good -- I can't wait to read that one! And I just had The Disenchantments recommended to me ... I love a good road trip book!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
You will love the Disenchantments if you like road trip books!!
DeleteLooks like some good books. I just picked up The Immortal City yesterday and already finished it late last night (really this morning). :) I loved it! Very different take on the whole angel thing and I'm interested to see if they do a sequel, not that they have too, but they leave it open enough that they can. I'm reading Above right now.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think of Above?
Deleteahh, you found Masque out in the wild?? This makes me want to go to the bookstore and look for it! I SO can't wait for Masque!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Drowning Instinct, and I don't think there are zombies in it. It isn't related to the Ashes trilogy, so probably not.
enjoy!
my IMM.
LOL-- yes, it was running wild.
DeleteSince I have two copies, it will probably be up for grabs in a giveaway!
Great IMM!! I Hunt Killers looks really good!!! Thank you for visiting my IMM. I filled out a contact me form about freebie friday.

I'm worried that I Hunt Killers may be too scary. But I'm going to try it!
DeleteI really want to get my hands on Masque of the Red Death! I have only heard great things about it! I had Getting Over Garret Delaney in my TBR pile from the Library and just finished it. Solid 4 stars out of 5 from me. I couldn't put it down.
ReplyDeleteIt's really different -- I think you'd like it!!!!
DeleteGreat IMM! I'm looking forward to your review of Unraveling. Just pre-ordered it yesterday :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I think I may need to add I Hunt Killers to the TBR. It's been very popular on the blogs!

ReplyDeleteI'm worried that IHK is too scary. But we'll see...
DeleteI have I Hunt Killers and it looks so good. Why isn't there enough time to read everything?????
ReplyDeleteEnjoy all your books!
I know -- so many books to read!
DeleteMy copy of Immortal City came in on Saturday and I'm reading it now. Deftinitely a great book so far. I love how the setting is Los Angeles but at the same time Scott Speer makes the place his own little world. I also got the first two books of The Verona Trilogy, which definitely sounds like a good series, especially since it takes place in Italy(I so want to go there).
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing your thoughts!!
DeleteZombies are not a favourite with me, so I am hoping there are none in DROWNING INSTINCT too. I love the cover of this. I am judging!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe cover is really great and really seems to fit the book!
DeleteVery nice haul! I Hunt Killers sounds so good and I've heard crazy good stuff about Drowning Instinct! All the others sound great, too! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm about to make some tea and go read IHK right now!
