I had so much fun doing my first read-a-thon as a blogger! Thanks so much to Bout of Books for hosting and to all the bloggers who hosted mini-challenges!
I did better than I thought. Early in the week, I got bogged down reading a book I really didn't like, but by Friday I was back in the groove. Here's what I read:
Here's my final Read-A-Thon report
Read:
5/14/12 - 5/15/12
Insurgent by Veronica Roth (had started this prior to the read-a-thon; finished the last 300 pages)
5/16/12 - 5/17/12
Dead Time by Anne Cassidy
5/18/12
Pretty Amy by Lisa Burstein
First Comes Love by Katie Kacvinsky
5/19/12
In Honor by Jessi Kirby
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson
5/20/12
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead (read to page 205).
I also DNF'd a couple things -- or at least put them aside for now. I learned that to make a read-a-thon work, you really need to pick books you love.
You did WAY better than me! I got bogged down by life and felt like I got to spend barely any time reading. But I started a bunch of different books and need to spend this week finishing them.
ReplyDeleteLOL -- I do that too -- start different books. I'm like the person who pokes the hole in the bottom of he chocolates to see what kind they are and then eats the ones that are tastiest!
DeleteI agree, this was such fun in every corner of the event. hope to stop by in august for the 5.0 read a thon.

I loved it!!! I'm definitely in for the august one!
DeleteOMG!! That is a ton of books. I could never read that many books in one week. Awesome job chick!!
ReplyDeleteLOL once your daughter is in kindergarten, you'll have more time to read.
DeleteI agree! That's a very good strategy! It was my first readathon as well and I had a lot of fun!

You did great!!
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by :)
I'd love to know what you DNF'd sometime because I have had to do that a lot recently! Usually I can plow through a couple books a week, depending on length but I have been struggling due to trying to finishing some books I just don't like or can't get into! But you did a great job and I can't wait to hear what you thought about Insurgent!
ReplyDeleteWell, none of them were true DNFs. I was reading a few chapters of things, trying to find something that I clicked with.
DeleteI'm not sure I'm reviewing Insurgent. There have been so many reviews already and I am so behind on other stuff I promised to review and BEA is right around the corner. But we'll see!
YOU HAVE GOLDEN LILY?!!!
ReplyDeleteaaahhh!!! you get the good stuff!!
Good karma from giving all those books away??
Deleteprobably :D lucky u!
DeleteGreat job! Glad you had a good week!
ReplyDeleteI was working on Insurgent my first day too - I couldn't wait til Monday to start it :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job this week!
Insurgent was a great way to start off!
DeleteI wish I had time to read that number of books.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually read that many!!
DeleteCompletely agree, I also only picked books I liked to help speed myself along.
ReplyDeleteHere is my progress post.

Wow! You did awesome!!! Congrats on such a successful readathon, and your first one at that! Next time I'll try to participate in this one, too. Do you know if it's an annual thing or if it happens more than once a year? I'm looking forward to the next Dewey's readathon in October (I think that's when the next one is). Congrats again, and I can't wait to read your reviews!
