I'm joining TGIF again today. This meme is hosted by GReads.
This week's question: If you could take a trip any place within a fictional book, where would you go?
Oooh, this is such a fun question. Going to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando was almost like stepping into Hogsmeade and Hogwarts. It was amazing!
But that's an obvious answer, so I'm trying to think of books that were set in a place I'd like to go. No scary dystopias, please!
I always dreamed of being a spy, so I want to join the Heist Society team.
Yes, it will be a working vacation. But those guys go all over -- London, Paris, Cairo. I want to wear a disguise. Hopefully, I won't blow the whole caper and get us all arrested...
What book would you like to disappear into?
If you haven't entered Freebie Friday, scroll down and see what's up for grabs!!
haha I love those books! I could totally see you there solving crimes Jen! hehe Hmm...gosh that's a tough one. I just finished Unbreak My Heart and now I want to sail my way up the eastern coast! So I'm gonna go with that! haha
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really nice. But after watching Dead Calm (Nicole Kidman's very first movie) I have this phobia of killers lurking on sailboats.
DeleteLOVE it. I chose prague, with the hopes that I would become involved with a secret society or an art heist. LOVE that book.... love that world!
ReplyDeleteI ALMOST said Prague b/c of Book of Blood and Shadows. Then I thought, Hale could fly us all to Prague too :)
DeleteYes, I totally agree with both of your picks. especially heist Society. I would love to jet set around the world like Kat and Hale! I just finished Tokyo Heist, and I loved all the descriptions of Japan. I think I would go there:)
ReplyDeleteThat book sounds fun!
DeleteHmm.. well Hogwarts would be totally awesome. But I'd like to go to either St. Vladmirs Academy (Vampire Academy) or any House of Night (the series by P.C. and Kristin Cast).
ReplyDelete@SMAsbridge
You're going to have a lot of company at St. Vlad's. I haven't read an House of Night books. Yet!
DeleteI missed out on my opportunity to go to school abroad and have read a couple books where the characters get to do that, in big old majestic buildings dripping with character. I think I would like to be able to do something like that even though I am too old now (31), it can be a European summer adult learning program! Of course, they will also be a bad boy heart throb with an accent and a guarded past. We would pass witty quips back and forth and ignore our feelings...have I mentioned I love freebie fridays?
ReplyDeleteWow, you just plotted out a whole book there. Can I read that one???
DeleteI'll totally get right on it...right after work, dishes, dinner, laundry, homework, etc.
DeleteOkay... clearly I'll have to be patient. I guess I have a lot to read.
DeleteI so need to go to Wizarding World of Harry Potter!! I will get there someday. I haven't read any of Ally Carter's books, but I love spy type books. (I was obsessed with Nancy Drew when I was younger) I think it would be super fun to be in a world of spies and whatever. I don't know where I would choose to be honest. Maybe Wonderland!! How cool would that be?!!!
ReplyDeleteYou mean like Alice???
DeleteI would love to visit the Wizarding world, but I think I would rather visit the world in Jean Auel's Earths Children series. Yes, it's dangerous but life just seems so much simpler.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read those books -- but I agree. A simpler life would be nice...
DeleteLike everyone else, Hogwarts does sound pretty good and anywhere that Ally Carter could take you (loved those books too). I think though that I've been in a regency mood lately, so Edenbrooke sounds nice, especially if my husband is with me. :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love Regency books too. This is such a fun question.
DeleteLike everyone else I would love to b transported to hogwarts!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I would also love to go to go old Europe where and when anne rices lestate was born and rasied!!!! I would love to see what the world was like then.
This is hard.. I would wanna go to St. Vladimir's to hopefully get a glimpse of Rose and Dimitri and even Lissa and Adrian!
ReplyDeleteYou better watch out for Jen M!!
DeleteI'd love to be a spy! And of course I'd love to go to Hogwarts! But my girl ^Arianne^ clearly has stolen my answer! I want to go to St. Vladimir's and kidnap Adrian. I would also like to go to the Gallagher Academy to learn to be a spy. Have you read Ally Carter's other spy series Gallagher Girls? It's cute too and they have an awesome spy school.
ReplyDeleteAll you have to do is get to St. Vlad's first and nab him. Though Arianne is pretty crafty.
DeleteI have not read the Gallagher Girls series but have heard great things about it!
hahahaha don't hurt me!!! I assure you I am not after Adrian. I simply wants a glimpse ;)
DeleteHmm... I don't even know who I want because Dimitri is already taken and there's no one else that caught my attention.
Ah, Jen has a lot of book boyfriends. She might not even miss one if you lure him away....
DeleteI'm not sure about that. She's pretty smitten with Adrian lol.
DeleteTrue. *cough cough crazy stalker cough cough*
DeleteI agree with you Jen! I'm also partipating this Friday! :) Here's mine-http://wwwthebookshelves.blogspot.com/2012/05/tgif-friday-1.html
ReplyDeleteThanks -- love your new blog design. At least I think it's new!
DeleteMIDDLE EARTH beckons. I really should go to New Zealand on a LOTR tour. They are our neighbours after all.
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to go to New Zealand!
DeleteThere the heck did my comment go? I know I commented on this post yesterday. I totally was blabbering and then decided on Wonderland. Blogger ate my comment! :(
ReplyDeleteHaha nevermind, now my comment is there again. Blogger is messing with me today. *Runs away crying*
DeleteI swear I didn't see a lot of these comments until now. Blogger is messing with me too.
DeleteI totally need to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Like soon!
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, it would be tons of fun to go around with the Heist Society team! I need to read the second book in that series sometime, too. Great picks!
I absolutely love Harry Potter World. Last year for my birthday I got season passes just to go here. Definitely heaven on earth lol. Oh how I miss butterbeer. I would so love to visit The Shire, hobbits definitely know how to live.
