Time another fantastic Freebie Friday!
What's up for grabs this week?
Clicking on highlighted titles takes you to the Goodreads page.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
I can't tell you how many people have urged me to read this book. I'm on it! I have an ARC and a paperback, so I'm offering the paperback up today.
Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry (ARC)
This is a edgy contemporary title from HarlequinTeen that's been getting a lot of buzz. If you're a regular blog reader, you might remember that I got an ARC a couple weeks ago -- and then I also got approved for it by NetGalley. So since I'm planning to do a lot of Kindle reading this summer, I'm putting my ARC up for grabs.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I had the pleasure of hearing John Green speak at the BEA Children's Author Breakfast. This book is amazing! We all received a copy in a goody bag but I bought the book right when it came out, so I'd be happy to share this extra copy with someone.
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson (ARC)
I loved this moving summer coming of age story about love and loss. It is the perfect summer read -- you can check out my review of Second Chance Summer here. I got an ARC but also bought myself a hardcover copy, so I'd love to pass on the ARC.
To enter, please leave me a comment -- you can tell me what you're reading, or about a book you can't wait to read, or what you're doing this weekend -- anything goes.
If you don't think I know how to find you (on a blog, Twitter, Goodreads) then please fill out the Google Doc too.
Open internationally. Entries close Saturday morning 7 am EST. Winner gets his/her choice of any book or ARC from the stack.
THIS FREEBIE FRIDAY IS OVER!
I'm currently reading Game of Thrones, Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter, and The Infects. I never read 3 books at a time, but it's going pretty well :)
ReplyDeleteI read two at a time -- one paper, one kindle. You're an inspiration!
Deleteohhh, the fault in our star! Have read so many great things about this!!! I'm really curious!
ReplyDeleteIt's SO good!!
DeleteI'm currently reading Mansfield Park (meh) and My Particular Friend by Jennifer Petkus ... This weekend has no plans so far, but today I am having a girl date at the froyo bar, haha
ReplyDeleteYeah, Fanny is not my favorite Austen heroine either.
DeleteFroyo sounds like a great idea to me!!!
I just finished the most awesome book, The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. Have you read that yet, Jen? Holy cow, so, so romantic and the most beautiful writing! I may spend the weekend writing the review & try to put into words how much I loved that book:)
ReplyDeleteI read an ARC of it when it came out, and then I re-read it later. It's a beautiful book!!! Why hasn't Jandy Nelson written more books for us to read???
DeleteI am reading Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers and loving it! Just finished Bloodlines by Richelle Mead too! I would so love pushing the limits! It's intense! :D
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty intense! Can't wait to read it!
DeleteI am crrently reading Arise by Tara Hudson. Really liking it so far. This week I participated in Armchair BEA, Which was awesome. I also met another blogger, whom I have a lot in common with through it. I would kill for Pushing the Limits or Daughter of Smoke & Bone. Thanks for the freebies! =)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Arise but will have to check it out!
DeleteGlad Armchair BEA was fun -- I'm going to have to check out some of the posts now that I'm back online.
I am currently reading Until I Die by Amy Plum. Since I've just begun it, I guess that's what I'll do this weekend too :) Thanks for the giveway!
ReplyDeleteI loved the setting of that book -- felt like I was in Paris :)
DeleteI am currently reading Erebos by Ursula Poznanski.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am going to do project to school with my friends at the weekend. :/ :D
Thanks for the giveaway! :)
Good luck on your project!
DeleteYou must be worn out after BEA! lol I need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone too. Haven't done that yet! I am finishing up Through To You by Emily Hainsworth right now. Got about 20 pages left. And then I'm starting on Secret Letters by Leah Scheier. I need to have a read-a-thon this weekend! hehe
ReplyDeleteI am pretty tired. Okay, we both need to get each other to hurry up and read that book!
DeleteI just started Pardonable Lies, the third Maisie Dobbs book but my introduction to the series-my library didn't have the first two checked in. Hopefully starting with the third will work out for me!
ReplyDeleteI read the first two books -- didn't know there was a third. I really like that series!
DeleteYour giveaways are amazing! :) I'm reading Insurgent by Veronica Roth right now. I can't even put into words how wonderful it is!
ReplyDeleteThanks -- that's so nice of you.
DeleteYes, I love that series too!
I'm currently listening to Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan and reading I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella. Both are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWill Grayson must be an amazing audiobook!
DeleteI just finished City of Bones and now I'm reading Beastly by Alex Flinn. I love Alex Flinn's books, cause they are all about fairytales but they get a very cool modern twist!
ReplyDeleteTy so much for the giveaway =)
I really liked Beastly too!
DeleteI'm currently reading Half-blood and I'm like 10 pages in so I don't really have a solid opinion about it yet:) I can't wait to read Pushing the Limits!
ReplyDeleteI liked Obsidian -- haven't read Half Blood yet.
DeleteI am reading Unearthly by Cynthia Hand. I am also listening to Will Grayson, Will Grayson while I go to the gym or on long drives. I am liking both so far. The book I am probably looking forward to the most is Rapture by Lauren Kate. I want to see how she concludes the series.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that Unearthly series. I can't wait for book 3!
DeleteI'm reading Kiss of Death by Lauren Henderson. :)
ReplyDeletethebookbabesreads.blogspot.com
I'll check that one out!
DeleteI'm currently reading Delirium. I have been hearing great stuff about it ever since it came out but also heard that it ends at a cliff hanger and people cursing because they couldn't wait to get their hands on Pandemonium till it came out an year later. So I waited till I got both the books in my hands and I'm glad I finally managed to start reading it. Loving it so far!
ReplyDeleteI love Lauren Oliver's books! Pandemonium was really different in feel than Delirium. Can't wait for Requiem!
DeleteIs that what the third book is called??
DeleteI think so. She tweeted recently that she'd finished writing it. But I do tend to mangle the names of books, especially books in series that have titles that sound a lot alike.
DeleteOh!! Second Chance Summer - me likey :) Right now I'm reading These Girls by Sarah Pekkanen. I'm not very far into it, but it's pretty good so far. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou too! Second Chance Summer is really great!
DeleteI'm still reading 11-22-63, man, that's a big book! I also just started Summerland by Elin Hildebrand. Should be decent....
ReplyDeleteI have that on my wish list, but I agree -- I may not get to it for a while. It is sooo long. But I've heard it's good, and I'm a big Stephen King fan!
DeleteI'm currently reading Splendor by Anna Godbersen :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the international giveaway! :D
Her books are so much fun!
DeleteI just finished Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan last night, and I can't stop thinking about it. I knew it was going to be good, but it was SOOOOO good. I have serious book depression right now. But I'm going to start This is Not a Test when I get home tonight, and I've been hearing awesome things about it, so maybe the depression won't be too prolonged. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and DoSaB was one of my favorite reads last year, maybe ever. I can't wait to see what you think of it.
I'm so glad you said that. I was approved for Unspoken on NetGalley, but they only offer an Adobe PDF, which can't be read on a kindle. I was wondering if I could stand reading an entire book on a laptop, but if you loved it so much, I am going to do it!!!!
DeleteYour post reminds me that I'm still one of the select few that have yet to read 'The Fault in Our Stars'. It sounds like a total heartbreaker but one of those that simply must be read.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently reading Rhiannon Frater's 'The Last Bastion of the Living' for her upcoming blog tour. It's pretty much blowing me away with it's awesomeness. :D
I'm sure you're not the only one!
DeleteI have heard great things about Rhiannon Frater -- enjoy!
I'm reading Lies Beneath right now. I am looking forward to reading The Last Bastion of the Living which is coming up super quick on my TBR list. Sounds like you had a fantastic time at BEA. I am so going next year!!!

I'm currently reading My Heart for Yours by Jolene Perry and Stephanie Campbell.
ReplyDeleteI'm DYING to read Pushing the Limits!!!
Haven't heard of those, but will check them out!
DeleteI'm actually reading The Fault in Our Stars right now. It's pretty creepy how Augustus is ridiculously similar to me. For that I like him a lot. Also, I sympathize with Van Houten and I think I know why he was a total jerk. But I guess I'll have to keep reading. :)
ReplyDeleteI was so in love with that whole crazy Van Houten storyline. I need to re-read the book when I have time!!
DeleteGah, in between my comment and your comment on my blog (thanks!), I finished the book. I mean. Wow. I was sort of right, but that still made me cry. :(
DeleteI need to read John Green's other books.
I'm currently reading "Taken by Storm" (Raised by Wolves #3) :-)
ReplyDeleteI really, really, want to read Pushing the Limits!! Thanks again for the great giveaway Jen!
Yes, that book sounds perfect for you and/or Caitlin!! (And all my edgy contemporary YA readers!)
DeleteLol too funny. And yes edgy contemporary is definitely my favorite.
DeleteI'm reading Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright & David Leslie Johnson. It is that book-made-into-movie, and I've been meaning to read for a while, because I want to watch the movie (starring Amanda Seyfriend). After The Hunger Games, I will never make the mistake of watching the movie before reading the book!
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to read The Fault in Our Stars :) I've heard it's a gripping and surprising novel.
Oooh, I love fairy tale retellings. I haven't seen the movie either, so maybe I should check the book out!

ReplyDeleteI just mentioned you (look a couple comments up)!!!!!
DeleteThanks for this awesome giveaway! Right now I'm reading Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. I'm really looking forward to reading Once by Anna Carey. :)

Isn't it great to read a series that way? Much more satisfying!
DeleteRight now I'm readind Enthralled: Paranormal Diversions. I dont know why but I always take FOREVER reading anthologies! I've been at this one for a few months now, lol. As for my weekend plans...study, study, study! Or so I hope (I tend to get distrated way too easily! lol) I've got finals next week.
ReplyDeleteI read that anthology -- some good stuff in there. I think it takes longer because you feel finished reading --- over and over. So you keep stopping.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I'll love to win the fault in our stars.

ReplyDeleteOn Sunday I plan to reorganize some of the bookshelves and my wife will be finalizing the accommodation plans for our trip to San Felipe, B.C., Mexico in July.
Some excitement huh?
Have a great weekend yourself.
Actually, that sounds really nice! Have fun!
DeleteI am currently reading City of Lost Souls. I am a huge fan of Cassnadra Clare, but I am not loving this book. :( I will keep reading though and hope I start to like it. Thanks for the giveaway! I've been wanting the read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm sorry you didn't like it. I read the first three books in that series and then I got behind. So I haven't read that one.
DeleteWell...I'm currently reading an ARC of "The Glimpse," and then will be reading one of "Lies Beneath," for review. Then I am DONE with review commitments and can't WAIT to read something totally indulgent and of my own choosing. :D
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm jealous about that last part....

- Beckie
I've heard great things about Scarlet.

I'm reading 'city of ashes' which is the second in the mortal instruments series by cassandra clare. It's the second time I'm reading it and I'm finding it a bit easier to follow this time around!
ReplyDeleteI would love to read the daughter of smoke and bone :)
I loved City of Ashes!

ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about her books!
