TGIF: Author sightings and signings

hot trends in fiction

I'm joining TGIF again today. This meme is hosted by GReads.  It's a chance to recap the week on our blog and answer a question.

Today's question: Tell us about an author you've met, contacted, stalked....

I've been to a few author signings. Last TGIF I showed you my stamped copy of Mockingjay.  I also got a bunch of books signed at BEA. I was telling Gretchen McNeil that I liked Possess and she said that some people thought that book was scarier than Ten.  So here's what she wrote in my ARC:

  4. I haven't read Possess, but Ten is definitely on my TBR list. Any book that is an Agatha Christie retelling and features teenagers trapped with a madman on a scary island is something i want to read! Have you started it yet? Anxious to hear your thoughts:)

  5. Lisa Kessler is an author I stalk all the time given that she lives so close to my city. I would be meeting her for the third time next month (if not next week).

I met Tahereh Mafi, Anna Carey, Kami Garcia, Lauren Kate, and Ransom Riggs all at the same time. Very interesting people :D

I met other authors but I can't remember their name at the moment - lol don't kill me.

I plan to meet more authors in the future. I missed meeting Richelle Mead and Melissa De La Cruz this week and I'm so bummed. But there will be next time I hope.

    1. I missed it. My companion was really tired and I didn't want him to be miserable so I just said let's just go home. My heart was crying lol

  7. I think the only author I have met is Lisa Lutz. Although after the last book in her series I'm not such a big fan anymore cause I hate what happened lol Most signed books I receive by the authors mailing them to me or by winning them. There are not many signings near me except in SF which is a bet of a hectic drive with bridge tolls and no parking so I never go. Plus none of my local friends want to drive that far with me just to get a signed book. "-(

  8. Gretchen cracks me up on twitter and in her vlogs. LOL I love what she put in your book too. I've read Possess and Ten already and I am not sure which I found scarier. Well, more like creepier. I did love Ten slightly more. Can't wait to hear how scary it was for you when you read it! :)

  10. I work in Early Childhood & the only author I have met, several times, is Mem Fox. She writes the most amazing picture books for children. My workplace often sponsors & arranges conferences for Mem Fox.
