Extra! Extra! is my weekly Sunday post featuring brand new additions to my TBR pile as well as a summary of what's coming up on the blog.
I am trying really hard to rein in my book buying until I get my giant pile o'books down, but I did get these two this week:
The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy by Nikki Loftin -- this book will be part of a "Back to School" middle grade feature and giveaway that I'll be doing in August.
Spark (SkyChasers book #2) by Amy Kathleen Ryan -- I recently finished this and will review it on Monday.
What might you have missed on the blog this week?
I reviewed Drain You by M. Beth Bloom. If you missed that one, be sure to check it out by clicking that highlighted text.
I posted Part III of St Vladimir's Summer School. The summer school gang and I discussed Shadow Kiss.
I reviewed Amelia Anne is Dead and Gone by Kat Rosenfeld. Click the highlighted text
I reviewed Pushing the Limits -- with a giveaway -- you still have time to enter and it is open internationally!
What's coming up next week:
Monday I'm reviewing Spark by Amy Kathleen Ryan
Tuesday will be my usual Hot off the Presses!
Wednesday the St. Vladimir's gang and I can finally come off the edge of the cliff and find out what happens to poor Dimitri.
Thursday I'm reviewing Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas and...
On Friday you can enter to win my ARC of Throne of Glass in my stop on the Lazy Days of Summer Giveaway Hop!
I'll be drawing winners of my July comments contest on Monday, July 30.
Tell me: how was your week and what's new with you? I'm not linking up this week because I'm away this weekend, but if you stop by I'll visit you back :)
Wow. An awesome week ahead. I can't wait:)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much :)
DeleteThe Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy looks really cute; I keep being surprised by awesome MG and I hope this is another winner!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your review of Throne of Glass-one of my most anticipated reads of the year!
I haven't read much middle grade lately, but I do love it -- so imaginative and fun. I'm excited.
DeleteAwesome books this week!!

Thanks -- I see you got Poison too -- can't wait to read that one!
DeleteI haven't read Glow so I am curious to find how you liked Spark. I am still on the fence about that series. Definitely looking forward to your Throne of Glass review. :)
ReplyDeleteYou can check out what books I got this week here!
So jealous of all your signed books!!
DeleteNice haul this week! Lots of people have been getting Spark this week, but I still need to read Glow.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading;))
My STS
I wasn't sure about Glow at first, but I ended up liking it. My review won't have any spoilers (except that the three main characters remain alive through two books!)
DeleteSpark looks good, hope you enjoy and have a great sunday
ReplyDeleteThanks -- you too :)
DeleteMy weakness this week was the .99 - 2.99 ebooks. I've been doing great with physical book purchases.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot be stopped! We find a way around our book bans lol
Ooh, I'm excited to hear your thoughts on The Sinister Sweetness of Splendor Academy, it looks like a lot of fun! Plus I love all that alliteration:))
ReplyDeleteoh goodness. This past week was a stressful one... still going but a little less crazy... I've developed lactose allergies and I'm having the doctor confirm it this coming week and hopefully she can give me something to take... I really hope there would be a way for me to keep eating dairy products!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the revelation on Dimitri!!! :)
Blog
I hope you figure all that out and are feeling better soon!
DeleteFinished two books this week. ASHES and Under The Never Sky--LOVEED
ReplyDeleteother than that, same as always
I liked both of those too!
DeleteSomehow I always end up buying a book. Yesterday I bought and read So Into You by Cecilia Gray. Its the second of the Jane Austen Academy novels and they are just so cute to read, I can't wait for more. Just a small detour from my book pile but now I'm getting back on track.
ReplyDeleteYep, the same thing happens to me!
DeleteOh gosh, can you send some of your willpower over to me? I really need to go on a book-buying ban but all the good books keep getting released! I can't help myself!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books this week!
I don't have that much willpower at all! I guess just staring at my huge TBR helps a little....
DeleteI'm looking forward to your review of THRONE OF GLASS.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to seeing you there!
DeleteOooh, looking forward to see what you think about Throne of Glass! Also, I began reading Cinder yesterday (borrowed it from the library) after reading tons of good reviews about it.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Cinder -- and now you're ready for book two!
DeleteI can't wait to read your Throne of Glass review!! :)
ReplyDeleteI have to finish writing it!!
DeleteI can't wait for Wednesday, although I'm still in the middle of Blood Promise. After all that waiting, I couldn't even read it this weekend. My brother was home on leave (he's Navy) and my sister came home with her family (and new baby) for my dad's 50th birthday. I can't wait to finish the book tonight or tomorrow though.
ReplyDeleteSo great that you got to spend time with your family! The book can wait :)
DeleteHa, sounds like me. I'm trying to reign in the book-buying, too, but it's just not happening. Too many awesome books that I MUST own. :P But you're doing better than me. :)
ReplyDeleteI have The Sinister Sweetness that I won from a giveaway. It sounds like a really fun book and I am looking forward to reading it. Can't wait to see your review for Throne of Glass.
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously a week behind in following your blog! We decided that we will be homeschooling my 1st and 3rd grader this week and that has been taking up a lot of my time. Both of these books look really good. Looking forward to your reviews and this week as I catch up. ;)
