YA Hot Off the Presses: New Releases June 24-30

Hot Off the Presses -- brand new YA releases!

Hot Off The Presses highlights great new YA releases for the coming week.

What's coming out during the week of July 24-30?
Drain You by M. Beth Bloom Endlessly by Kiersten White Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard

You probably know that I loved Drain You by M. Beth Bloom -- a tongue-in-cheek look at the 90s and girl-meets-vampire stories.  If you missed it, you can read my review and fun 90s glossary here.

Also a huge fan of Kiersten White. Can't wait to read the final installment in Evie and Lend's story in Endlessly.

Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard. I haven't read that one but Caitlin recommends it for fans of Cassie Clare's Infernal Devices series and zombie fans in general. Sounds intriguing, but I'll have to grill Caitlin about the gore level. Check out Caitlin's review here.

Other books releasing this week:

The Triumph of Death (Alex Van Helsing #3) by Jason Henderson

Guitar Notes by Mary Amato

Red Heart Tattoo by Lurlene McDaniel

  1. Oh, Something Strange & Deadly isn't TOO gory. I know you're not a fan of zombie novels, but it's not that bad, really. At least it wasn't to me. But then again, I LOVE zombie novels, gore or no gore. LOL.

I really need to pick up Drain You. Thanks for the reminder. :) And I'll definitely be checking out the last installment of the Paranormalcy series. I'm rooting for more Reth...he's an intriguing character.

    1. Well, that is good to know about the gore.
And I agree that I hope Reth gets some kind of happy ending. Just not with Evie.

  2. I still need to read Supernaturally, but I do have Endlessly coming to me in the mail soon! Also, a blogger is sending me an ARC of Drain You! Yay!!

And yay -- hope you like Drain You!

  3. Yeah, Something Strange and Deadly is not very gory and it has some interesting twists on the zombies (like a necromancer is raising them rather than a virus bringing them back to "life").

I'm also looking forward to Supernaturally-I'm going to a book signing with White and I'm super excited about it!

  4. Well, lol, these all look good. Loved your review of Drian You and might pick it up someday. I never did persue Kristin Whites Paranormalcy novels tho. Enjoy the ending!

  5. Wow this is awesome, I feel so honored. Thank you for including me in this post. Something Strange and Deadly is perfect for anyone, even if you don't like zombies because it's such a unique story with the Dead, necromancers, and also a spirit. I still need to read Supernaturally but at least I won't have to wait for Endlessly to come out.

  6. I am reading Endlessly right now!! I swear it was torture waiting for it to come out. I won a pre-order of Something Strange and Deadly from a giveaway a little while ago, so that should be on it's way to me. Drain You and Cold Fury both sound really good too.

  8. Great week for books! I still need to read Paranormalcy one of these days! And I'd also like to read Drain You (since you loved it so much) and Cold Fury. Thanks for these lists--it's nice to know just what's coming out when. I normally get confused because I'll see a review of a book and then it doesn't actually come out for 2 months and when it does I'm like, "Wait, that's just now coming out?" So these posts help! ;)

    1. I actually listened to the audio of Paranormalcy to review for Supernaturally, but I don't think I'll have time to do that this time around!

  16. I think I picked up Paranormalcy when it was a 2.99 ebook a while back, but I can't remember and I'm too scared to look at my unread book list but I've heard nothing but good things about those books.

Obviously I'm looking forward to Drain You and I'll probably be raeding it soon. :)

  19. All three of these I'm looking forward to reading. Endlessly is being shipped to my library right now and I should have it tomorrow or early next week to read. Her new series looks great - already pre-ordered the first book, Mind Games.

    2. Picked it up today. I'm looking forward to reading it and also seeing what you think about it. I really liked the first book, the second book wasn't as good to me, so I'm hoping this one will be good.

  20. I love Kiersten White and Endlessly is one of the books I was most looking forward to in 2012.

I have just finished reading Endlessly, and whilst I won't give anything away, I will say that if you enjoy Kiersten's humor in this series, you won't be disappointed :)
