Freebie Friday has been a little sporadic this summer. But it's back today!
Here are the great new summer releases that the winner has to choose from. Highlighted titles link to Goodreads.
A Midsummer's Nightmare by Kody Keplinger
My Life in Black and White by Natasha Friend
The Thing about the Truth by Lauren Barnholdt
Survive by Alex Morel
The Waiting Sky by Lara Zielin
Spark by Amy Kathleen Ryan
How does Freebie Friday work? It's easy.
Just leave me a comment. Tell me what you're reading, about a book you can't wait to read, about what you're doing for the rest of the summer. Anything!
If you are very mysterious on the internet, please also leave your email in the Google Doc. But the comment is what enters you.
That's it. Entries close at 8:00 AM EST on Sunday morning, August 5. Then Random.org draws a number and the person who left that comment gets to choose any one of those books above, which will be mailed on Monday the 6th!
Open internationally.
All this week's winners will be announced by first name or nickname on Extra! Extra! tomorrow. (ETA: Forgot about deadline extension. They'll be announced on next week's Extra! Extra!)

Second Chance Summer is a perfect summer read!
DeleteRight now I am reading The Jelly Bean Crisis. I just finished Girl of Nightmares which was awesome!! I am looking forward to too many books to name lol!!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Girl of Nightmares!!!
DeleteRight now I'm in a sort of reading slump... so I'm actually going between books, all of which haven't really grabbed me yet. :( It's between Daughter of Smoke and Bone and a couple NetGalley ARCs which I feel the obligation to read.
ReplyDeleteRead Daughter of Smoke and Bone! Do it! You won't regret it...and I'm sure it'll break you outta that reading slump! :D
DeleteA lot of people in these comments have said they are slumping. Maybe it's the summer??
DeleteBut I agree -- Daughter of S and B is really good!
I'm finally reading Cinder. Heard so many great things about it, and I'm only 20% in, but I think it's a keeper. :) I'm participating in the Summer Wrap-Up Read-a-thon starting tomorrow, so I'm hoping to get through a lot of books over the course of the next nine days. We'll see, tho. If The Diviners arrives soon, though, I'm dropping everything to start it. I just know it's going to be good!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Cinder.
DeleteYes, the Diviners is sitting on my shelf, taunting me. I try to read review books in order, but it's hard sometimes....
Right now,I just finished Insurgent by Veronica Roth (so good), and I'm making my way through Gone With the Wind. It's actually better than I thought.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the awesome giveaways every Friday. It's sweet.
Insurgent and Gone with the Wind -- great combo. I really liked both of those. Gone With the Wind is long, but so good!!
DeleteOh GOD!! AWESOME books! i just finished Throne of Glass and Cold Fury & I LOVED them! OMG, i would SO LOVE Survive!!! It was on my wishlist for SO LONG! And as always Jen, Happy FRIDAY! =D
ReplyDelete@ReadAholicZ
Survive was a great summer read for me!!
DeleteI'm reading Auracle now for a book tour. It's okay so far but I'm just getting to the action so hopefully it gets better. I'm really excited to read The Book Thief actually! It was the last thing I got out from the library so I have to read other stuff first...
ReplyDeleteI really liked the Book Thief!! Enjoy it!
DeleteUm...I'm almost to the end of Lipstick Apology, and I just finished reading My Life Next Door. I don't know what I'm going to read next.
ReplyDeletethebookbabesreads.blogspot.com
Haven't read Lipstick Apology but I loved My Life Next Door!!!
DeleteI'm in a reading slump right now. No book seems to interest me.
ReplyDeleteThat's hard!
DeleteI'd say re-read a favorite, or just read something for fun. I'm reading Clockwork Angel just for fun and I'm loving it!
Right now I am reading Venom and loving it! Planning to read a book called Flirting With Boys next. :)
ReplyDeleteHave that one -- Venom. Can't wait to read it!!
DeleteYea, it's freebie Friday! I'm reading Glitch and it's really good! Thanks Jen!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying it!!
DeleteI'm reading Nevermore and really enjoying it. Next on the list-Shadow and Bone!
ReplyDeleteI liked Nevermore!! I had Shadow and Bone out of the library but I ran out of time!!!
DeleteI'm reading Sisters Red right now, and am enjoying it :)
ReplyDeleteDying to read that. I've only read Purity and I have Fathomless on my pile....
DeleteReading The Scorpio Races right now, and then I plan to finally read Catching Jordan! It's taken me wayyyy too long to read that book, especially when I've only heard amazing things about it!
ReplyDeleteLove both of those. And that's perfect, because they're both completely different, but both SO good!!
DeleteRight now, I'm reading Fury by Elizabeth Miles. It's not really keeping my interest and I've waited so long to buy this book. Don't you hate when that happens? I think I'm gonna put that one on hold and start Glitch. I haven't heard a lot of good things about it, but hopefully it keeps me interested.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Freebie Fridays!!!!!!!!! :D
I haven't read that one -- Fury, that is....
DeleteI just finished reading Capital Girls by Ella Monroe last night. It was okay, not the best, but the ending was good. I'm participating in the Summer Wrap Up Read-A-Thon that starts tomorrow, so I have a huge TBR which includes 52 Reasons to Hate My Father, Pushing the Limits and Team Human among other books.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! :)
I really need a read-a-thon to get me through my pile!!
DeleteI'm reading ReVamped by Ada Adams as well as Painfully Ordinary by Stephanie Amox. An author friend recommended me to her, so now I'm following up on reading her book and reviewing it. It always feels nice when you get recommended by an author that you read before :)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to hearing about them on your blog.
DeleteOr more poems. You have a knack for that!!
I just finished reading My Life Next Door which was really good. Not my typical type of book but I like to throw in books that my daughter likes to read so we can chat about them. I am really glad I read it!
ReplyDeleteI am currently reading Holiday in Death by JD Robb. I have been all over the board this summer.
I am looking forward to reading Pushing the Limits. Again, not my typical read but with all the hype and my weird mood I really want to!
Thanks so much!
Loved both of those (MLND and PTL) and I also love JD Robb. I'm a little behind on that series!!
DeleteI can't wait to read Shadow and Bone and I'm currently reading The People of Sparks.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for this amazing giveaway!
I need to get Shadow and Bone and I haven't read the duPrau series yet but I've heard great things!!!
DeleteThank you so much for the giveaway. Such great books to choose from! I am currently reading Through To You by Emily Hainsworth. Up next is The Raven Boys and then Personal Effects.
ReplyDeleteI have Through to You on my kindle! Can't wait to get to it!
DeleteI'm reading The Lost Girl and it's really good! Super crazy though. Who would want to have a girl learn all about your daughter so she can replace her?! That is just ridiculous. I'm going on a rafting trip this weekend and have been doing a lot of swimming this summer. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that one but it sounds creepy!!
DeleteI would love to be rafting -- it's a billion degrees today!!
I'm starting Grasping at Eternity today. The cover is gorgeous. I hope the story is awesome. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDon't know that one, but I'm going to look it up!!
DeleteYou always have such great books that I want to read. Right now I am reading The Wild Ones. I just got a new job that leaves me extremely tired so sadly I am reading this way slower than I want. Hoping to catch up and finish this weekend.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that -- is it just because you're new?
DeleteHave a relaxing reading weekend :)
Yea my muscles are definitely not used to it.
DeleteYour stacks always look so neat, haha
ReplyDeleteI'm reading...My Stubborn Heart and The Silver Chair. I've also officially given up on attempting to force myself to finish Mansfield Park ;o)
OCD!!!!
DeletePlus the picture comes out better. But I need to give books away faster cause my stacks are getting out of hand... I think my family is ready to stage an intervention.
I just started Stolen by Lucy Christopher and it's AMAZING!!!! I just love Aussie authors.
ReplyDeleteI resisted reading that because it just sounds disturbing, but I have heard that it's really great. I also love Aussie authors. I've got A Little Wanting Song by Cath Crowley on top of my pile...
DeleteI just finished The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and it was crazy!! And seriously mind boggling!
ReplyDeleteAnd today I'm going to be starting Unraveled by Gena Showalter. I loved Intertwined so I'm really excited to start this one.
Thanks for the giveaway! ^__^
Yep that ending of Mara Dyer -- !!!!

ReplyDeleteLoved Paranormalcy!
DeleteI'm currently reading two books: Touch by Jus Accardo which I'm loving and Second Grave On The Left by Darynda Jones. If you want to read an adult series, I would recommend Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series. Charley is a grim reaper with some snark and it's amazing! I can't wait for her YA release.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the book recommendations. i've heard of Touch but not the others!
DeleteI'm finally reading Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. I just got 4 books from the library today: Hold Me Closer, Necromancer; Beneath a Meth Moon; Graffiti Moon; and Words in the Dust. One of those will be up next. :)

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that one too!
DeleteI'm currently reading Seraphina (which I'm absolutely loving, go dragons!) even though I've got a HUGE Literature assignment/text next week which I should probably be focusing on. I'm also dying to read False Memory by Dan Krokos, which I've ordered a copy through the library, and some of the comments above just reminded me that I have to get to Gunmetal Magic when I get the time.
ReplyDeleteSeraphina sounds interesting and I have false memory on my stack!!
DeleteI'm currently reading Glow By Amy Kathleen Ryan. It's okay, but I'm not totally immersed in it like I get with some books. My TBR piles continues to grow though, and I am lucky enough (sarcasm) to be cleaning apartments for the rest of summer. I'm sure you're all jealous!
ReplyDeleteWell, hope the apartments have air conditioning at least. I've been outside way too much lately and it's really hot here!!
DeleteI just started In Honor by Jessi Kirby; at the moment I am reminded of why I don't really like road trip books but I'm hoping it will improve.
ReplyDeleteLOL -- you love epistolary fiction and I love road trip books. We need to swap books.
DeleteWell, we've been crazy-busy helping not one but TWO family members who are moving. You wouldn't believe all that we need to get done in less than 14 days lol
ReplyDeleteWhen I'm goofing off (like now) I'm either on the laptop or finishing up a good book, currently I'm reading Captivate :D
Thank you for the sweet giveaway, hope it's cool & pleasant in your neck o' the woods <3

I am almost finished with Underworld by Meg Cabot and it is really good! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

ReplyDeleteNext up on deck is Miss Peregrine's Home since it was due back at the library 2 days ago. And no, that's no an exaggeration :P
Ha ha -- the frexing stuff was funny!
DeleteUh oh -- I also have a book out that is due soon and can't be renewed :(
I've just finished reading Timepiece by Myra McEntire and now I have to choose between about 10 books, for what to read next.

ReplyDeleteFor the remainder of the Summer I'm torn between things I need to do around the house and things I want to do for fun. We will get out to the beach today, but maybe only for a little while.
First, I've got to paint those new rainspouts on the garage, sigh.
carlscott(at)prodigy(dot)net(dot)mx
Beach sounds nice. I know what you mean. I have a big pile of documents I need to shred and shredding is SO boring -- you can't even watch TV because it's so loud. Maybe I can figure out how to read while I do it ...
DeleteAhhhh why are these books soooo amazing!!! I love any of them:) I just finished Storm by Brigid Kemmerer and now I'm reading Between the Lines:)
ReplyDelete-JennyC
I liked Storm!

DeleteI have been so wrapped up in the Olympics this week that I haven't finished a single book! I'm in the middle of The Wishing Spell, which is cute but I'm having some issues with it (which could be entirely of my own making).
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying the Olympics too and my reading has also been suffering as a result...
DeleteI am currently reading Fever by Lauren DeStefano after months of waiting! And also Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved Wither and Fever and can't wait for Sever!

Finnikin of the Rock was SO good. Enjoy it!

Delete
