Last Reads of 2012 Readathon!

Welcome to the Last Reads of 2012 Readathon!

Are you a little short on that 2012 Goodreads reading goal? Maybe there's a few last books that you really meant to read this year but never got around to it? Want to meet some new friends who love to read?
I say yes, yes, and yes!

Patrick @ The Bookshelves, Eileen @ Singing and Reading in the Rain and I are hosting a LAST READS OF 2012 READATHON!

We hope this event will inspire you to achieve any and all last reading goals of the year. Maybe there's just one book you want to finish or maybe you've got a whole stack. How much you read and what you read is completely up to you. You can join us for as many days as you want and you don't have to be a blogger to participate.

Keep the group posted on your progress through Goodreads updates and/or Twitter --  we will be tweeting with hashtag #LR2012.

Here's how you can join us:

Sign up to participate in the readathon. You can do that in the linky below. Please link to your blog if you have one, or to your Twitter account or Goodreads profile if you aren't a blogger. You can sign up on any of our blogs -- the linky will automatically update on all three.

If you want to write up a post with your goals, or just decorate your sidebar, you can also grab our pretty button (designed by Eileen!) here:

On Tuesday December 17 I'll post a list of challenges that readathon participants can join. You can do as many or as few challenges as you want.  I'm hosting "I Laughed, I Cried" and will be challenging you to name the funniest and saddest books you read this year.

We are also looking for LR 2012 Challenge Hosts.  Eileen has come up with some great challenges you can host -- or come up your own.

If you'd like to sign up to host a challenge, please fill out the Google Doc below and Eileen will get back to you. If you have questions about hosting, please put them in the Google Doc. Challenge hosts should also sign up for the readathon in the linky above!

  1. This is a great idea! I have my own personal list of books I am trying to get finished by the end of the year, but they are primarily January 2013 releases, does that count? I've never joined a readathon because I am on the slower side of reading. lol

  2. Yes, absolutely. If you have 2013 review books and want to get a jump on those, that's fine.

You don't have to read like a maniac for two weeks either -- this isn't that kind of readathon. You can set any kind of goal that works for you.

  3. Great idea-I am hoping to hunker down the 22nd-23rd with my books but I'd also like to look through my planned posts and see if I can host a challenge.

  6. How fun!! Good luck to everyone who is doing this. I am actually considering a mini blogging break for the rest of the year so I won't be participating.

  12. I'll follow along in spirit...I can't commit to anything right now, especially with all the family I'll have in town and vacation time. But this is such a great idea, and one I need to follow through with!

  13. Sorry I'm signing up so late, I got way behind on blog reading this month! I have about 4 books that I'm hoping to end before the New Year. I always like to start the new year with a fresh, unread book!! Love, love, love the graphic for this!
