Welcome to the YA Academy Awards!
I love the Hollywood award season, but lately I haven't seen any of the movies. But I have read ALL the YA books (okay, a lot of them) and thought it would be fun to give out some awards. With prizes for you, of course!
This week will be nominations in the following categories:
Leading Man
Which YA guy kept your eyes riveted to the page? Maybe he's an action hero, maybe he's the sensitive type, maybe he's a lovable bad boy.
Leading Lady
Which YA girl was the bravest? The most touching? The one who made you feel all the gamut of emotions?
Best Supporting Actor
Which guy was the most reliable sidekick? The one who always had the hero (or heroine's) back?
Best Supporting Actress
Who was your favorite BFF? The most outrageous? The most loyal?
Best Comedy
Which book had you laughing out loud as you read?
Best Drama
Which book was the most gripping? The most suspenseful?
Any other categories you think we should have? Let me know!
Next week, February 15, we'll vote on the nominations. I'll put up the books/characters with the most nominations, and your votes will narrow the choices down to four in each category.
February 22 we'll do the final vote for the winners.
At every stage in the game, there is a chance to win. If you nominate, you get a chance. If you vote, you'll also another chance.
There will be three winners, drawn on Monday, February 25 each of whom can choose one of the winning books as their prize.
So, please put your nominations from those categories in comments, and then enter in the Rafflecopter. You can make one nomination or a whole list. You can nominate multiple books/characters in each category. You can explain your rationale, or just throw out the names. It's Friday, so we'll have as few rules as possible ;)
NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED. PLEASE VOTE HERE!

Rules: Just like with the Academy Awards, there are a few guidelines. The books must be YA, and any book you nominate must have been published between January 1, 2012 and February 22, 2013. If you're not sure, just throw your nominations out there and I'll double-check.
