Free Stuff!
I have some amazing giveaways that are ending this week -- don't miss out!
I spent the last three days at BEA -- Book Expo America. It was fantastic! I didn't actually take a lot of pictures - I was too busy looking at books and talking to people. Here's what I saw when I came up the escalator:
I interviewed Leigh Bardugo as part of the Siege and Storm blog tour. Win a copy of Siege and Storm and a paperback of Shadow and Bone! (US/Canada)
I also was part of the Monument 14: Sky on Fire tour and am giving away
a copy of that AND a paperback of Monument 14. (US/Canada)
Finally -- and this one is international -- I have a great selection of books for Freebie Friday, including books by Sarah Dessen, Katie McGarry and Bethany Griffin.
Book Hangover
I spent the last three days at BEA -- Book Expo America. It was fantastic! I didn't actually take a lot of pictures - I was too busy looking at books and talking to people. Here's what I saw when I came up the escalator:
Here's a peek at the main floor:
Yes, I did get a lot of great books. And I got to meet a lot of authors, bloggers, librarians, booksellers and teachers -- all people who love to talk about books. What could be better? It was fun and crazy and overwhelming and exhausting. We had a book blogger meet-up in the park that was a lot of fun.
Another highlight -- attending a Q & A with Richelle Mead and Melissa de la Cruz, who talked about writing series, having your books made into films, and more.
Richelle said that The Fiery Heart will be the Shadow Kiss of the Bloodlines series. If you've read the Vampire Academy series, you know what that means: BAD STUFF will happen.
I think that's why she wrote this in the Indigo Spell…..
Coming Up Next Week:
Best Books Ever Giveaway Hop!
Hot Off the Presses -- June 4 is a HUGE new release day!
Review of Proxy by Alex London -- with a giveaway!
What have you been up to? Let me know in comments and leave me a link so I can visit you back.
I have been behind on commenting back because of BEA but I'm getting caught up :)
Yay Best Books Ever!
ReplyDeleteHope you had fun at BEA! :)
It was SO much fun. But I'm tired...
DeleteBEA looked like so much fun, I hope I get to go sometime in the future. I can't imagine the book hangover from it though.
ReplyDeleteI hope you can go one year. I'd love to meet you :)
DeleteI wanted to go to BEA so bad. And since I live in Connecticut, it would have actually been possible. It just didn't work out this year... but next year for sure!! :D Glad you had fun!
ReplyDeleteNext year, I hope :)
DeleteI have BEA-envy :) Hopefully, I can go one year when my kids are a bit older. Looks like a lot of fun!!

I understand. I live in NY, and it's still hard to leave my family to their own devices for three full days….
DeleteI'm so jealous! I hope you had a blast! I love Richelle Mead! And while I'm dying to read The Fiery Heart...now you've got me scared about what's going to happen to my lovely characters! Although, Shadow Kiss is still one of my favorites of the whole VA series!
ReplyDeleteSP & STS
Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
I'd never seen her in person before. Both she and Melissa were fantastic!
DeleteYeah, I think trouble is ahead for poor Syd and Adrian...
Looks like a great time, congrats on the signed books
ReplyDeleteThanks - it was really fun!
DeleteI'm so glad you had a great time! Now you need a few days of recovery, huh? lol :)
ReplyDeleteI do, but no time for that!!
DeleteLooks like BEA was much fun! I'm really looking forward to reading Fiery Heart, hope there's not too much trouble;) Happy reading!

DeleteBEA looked so much fun! I will go in a few years! It totally sucks being British :(
ReplyDeleteMy Haul
Nah, being British is great!
DeleteIt was soooo good seeing you and BEA was fantastic! Can't wait until next year, although I'm sure I'll see you again before that! I'm already done with Jessica Darling, so I should be able to get to the post office this week to mail it back to you!!! It's so fantastic. I can not wait for summer school!
ReplyDeleteIt was SO fun to see you :)
DeleteIt was so good to see you at BEA and meet you in person. BEA was a lot of fun. I liked your Green Dress. I hope you love everything you got.
ReplyDeleteGrace
It was nice to meet you too!
DeleteThanks for the peek at BEA-wish I could have gone but that is something to save up for for next year (or in a few). I am planning to read Proxy this week and hope we both like it!
ReplyDeleteWell, we usually agree. So can't wait to find out what you thought. I'm not telling!
DeleteGlad you had a good time, I imagine all you want to do now is put your feet up! LOL Loved the signed Mead book!! The Sunday Post
ReplyDeleteI know -- when I saw what she wrote, I laughed.
DeleteI can't wait to see all the BEA posts! It sounds like everyone had a fantastic time.
ReplyDeleteIt was great!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing your BEA posts (I ended up having to stay home & want to see what I missed!). I still need to pick up a copy of Indigo Spell but because of the torturous wait between books with the VA series I have put off starting this one just yet.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a moment here is what I got in My Weekly Report
Aw, I'm so sorry you missed it!!
DeleteOhhh, Siege and Storm! *foams at mouth*
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that BEA was amazing! I hope to go next year! I can't wait to read all of your fantastic reviews for the amazing books you got at BEA :)
Check out my STS post!
Siege and Storm comes out in two days!!
DeleteI'm so jealous on everyone who got to go to BEA! It sounds great to meet all the authors and bloggers :D (and yeah, the books ;)) Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMel@thedailyprophecy.
It was really a lot of fun!
DeleteI know, right? But we must keep the faith. Stay strong….
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had fun! :) I couldn't be there! :( But I'm glad you had a nice time! :) Thanks for stopping by my SS. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I so want to go to BEA! You got to meet Richelle Mead! I would love to meet her. I've thought about ordering some signed copies of her books from a bookstore in Seattle where she lives and goes in to sign books. I'm very worried about The Fiery Heart now!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had fun at BEA! One of these years I'm going to get there! Now you've got me even more excited for The Fiery Heart and very jealous of that signed copy :)
ReplyDeleteGasp! The Fiery Heart will be the Shadow Kiss of the Bloodlines series?? You know what else that means!! "A" is for action, baby:)) You see where my mind went the moment I read that above;)
ReplyDeleteSo jealous! Glad you had a great time at BEA!
ReplyDeleteStay strong??? AHHHHHH What does that mean? Actually, I cannot wait to find out! Also, I'm eager for your PROXY review. I met Alex London at the Penguin party and he was a lot of fun, but I know next to nothing about his book. Though I do have a copy now. I think it's a Whipping Boy retelling? ANYWAY, I had such fun with you at BEA. I like that we were on the same wavelength about how we took on the floor!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I got to see you at BEA! Still not enough but more than last year :-)))
ReplyDeleteOne day, I seriously hope I get to go to BEA. It sounds like a booklover's heaven! :) It's so amazing that you got to meet Richelle too! And I haven't read The Indigo Spell yet, but now I'm terrified for The Fiery Heart. There might be a lot of Adrian and Sydney moments, but what if something horrible happens to Adrian and its all Dimitri-turned-Strigoi again?!? *starts hyperventilating*
ReplyDeleteOh crap, the Shadow Kiss of Bloodlines? I'm both scared and excited to hear that! It's awesome that you had a good time at BEA too, Jen. Can't wait to read about the books you received/heard about. :)
ReplyDeleteWendy @ The Midnight Garden
So glad you had a good time. Though the Shadow Kiss comment has me worried now. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh noes!!! BAD STUFF? What kind of bad stuff?!?
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! Thanks, again for the Gallagher Girls stuff! I'm hoping one of these days I'll get to BEA. :)
