Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black In the Age of Love and Chocolate by Gabrielle Zevin Jessica Darling's It List

Thanks so much to Little Brown and Macmillan!

I am the hugest fan of the Curseworker series and can't wait to try Holly Black's new book.
I'm hosting Gabrielle Zevin as part of Authors Are Rock Stars -- so this is perfect timing :)

  10. I have the first two books in that Gabriel Zevin series ... actually, I got the second one unsolicited for review, and then BOUGHT the first one. Still haven't started, though I really should!

I haven't read ANY Holly Black! I saw that one in a publisher's newsletter, but still wasn't sure if I want to try yet ... we'll see!

    Have a good week, Jen!

  17. I just read Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac by Gabrielle Zevin and I LOVED it. Was unsure about this chocolate is illegal dystopian series of hers though I might give it a try now. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown sounds intriguing. Hope you are enjoying your vacation! I somehow ended up with my third summer cold. I haven't been sick in years and now I'm sick in the summer. Weird.

  18. Oooooh. Can't wait to read your review for Coldest Girl!! I haven't read the Curseworker series yet, but Holly Black's Modern Faerie series was fun and her book is the first vampire book that Little Brown has picked up since Twilight. Hearing her speak about the enduring appeal of vampires has quite whet my wanting for that book :D. Hopefully you'll enjoy it as well as the other two e-ARCs you got!

  19. I cannot wait to get to Coldtown. I loved her Curse Workers series so hard! Not a fan of that Gabrielle Zevin series, though. I never connected with the MC, but I did listen to it, and I didn't like the narrator, so that might have something to do with it.
