Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Here are my two picks for today. Both sound like bodice-ripper romance novels. One comes out really soon, and the other in months….
The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines #4)
by Richelle Mead
To be published on November 19, 2013
by Razorbill
Eeep -- I'm SO excited for this one. I'm a big fan of Richelle Mead and this series. I just know that something terrible is going to happen in this book (I have my theories, which I have discussed with Lauren @ Love is Not a Triangle) and I can't wait to get reading.
Brazen
by Katherine Longshore
To be published by Viking Juvenile
on June 14, 2014
Summary: Mary Howard has always lived in the shadow of her powerful family. But when she’s married off to Henry Fitzroy, King Henry VIII’s illegitimate son, she rockets into the Tudor court’s inner circle. Mary and “Fitz” join a tight clique of rebels who test the boundaries of court’s strict rules with their games, dares, and flirtations. The more Mary gets to know Fitz, the harder she falls for him, but is forbidden from seeing him alone. The rules of court were made to be pushed…but pushing them too far means certain death. Is true love worth dying for?
My take: I really liked Gilt and LOVED Tarnish, and have become a big fan of this author. I'm excited that she's decided to write about Henry Fitzroy, because that was not what I was expecting -- both Gilt and Tarnish had to do with Henry VIII's wives and consorts.
What book(s) are you eagerly anticipating? Leave me a comment and/or a link! I'm back to returning comments promptly -- thanks for your patience :)
Those titles do sound like romances! I like seeing about Brazen-I haven't had a chance to read Tarnish yet but I know basically nothing about Fitz other than that I'm pretty sure he died young (like around 18) so the romance promised really might not last long.
ReplyDeleteI still need to read Tarnish--but Brazen does sound awesome:) And OF COURSE I can't wait for Fiery Heart! Capital "A" for action my friend--I think this may be the one ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. bodice-ripper is one of all time favorite phrases, EVER. Go figure.
So excited for Fiery Heart and Brazen looks really good too!
ReplyDeleteAlso SO so so excited for The Fiery Heart and Sydrian!!! Great picks!
ReplyDeleteMy WoW
Fiery Heart is really not in my radar since I didn't enjoy Bloodlines as much as everyone. Boo me. I haven't read Gilt just yet. I hope you'll enjoy these books when you get them. ;)
ReplyDeleteAllegiant...I'm still on the library waiting list. Avoiding all reviews until after I read it.
ReplyDeleteI'm soooooo excited for Fiery heart!!!
ReplyDeleteBrazen has an interesting summary. I've not read any of the Blood Lines series and only read book one of VA. I should read more when I get the chance. I hope you love both when you get to read them!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything by Richelle Mead, unfortunately. BUT, I love historical fiction, and I cannot wait to read Brazen! I liked Gilt (for the most part). I haven't read Tarnish yet though. But YAY for historical fiction! :D
ReplyDeleteCheck out my WoW post!
SUPER SUPER SUPER EXCITED FOR FIERY HEART!!!!!!! IT IS FINALLY NOVEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me to go preorder. I kept putting it off thinking I had lots of time but it is almost here!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read Fiery Heart, and I love Katherine Longshore's writing too. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Gilt and Tarnish yet or the Bloodlines series. I'm waiting on that second series to progress a little more. I hate waiting to find out what will happen next, so I like to just read the whole series in one fell swoop. Although, maybe I should start so that I'm not so far behind that it ends up taking me a year to read them all. :)
