Extra! Extra! is my weekend post featuring brand new additions to my TBR pile as well as a summary of what's new on the blog.
This weekend I'm linking to Stacking the Shelves @ Tynga's Reviews or to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
GIVEAWAYS: I have a couple of great giveaways going!
First, I'm giving away a finished copy of Half-Bad by Sally Green. Open internationally! If you missed the Half-and-Half review of the book I did with Lauren of Love is Not a Triangle, you can check that out here.
Then, it's the last few days to enter the February Hot Off the Presses! (I know it's March, but the new giveaway starts on Tuesday.)
NEW BOOKS:
I had so much fun joint-reviewing with Lauren that I told her we needed to do it again with another uber-hyped book. So thanks to Harper for allowing me access to an e-ARC of
by Erika Johansen
To be published on July 8
I was going to cut and paste the synopsis, but it's SO freaking long. As is the book. So that link up above leads you to the Goodreads page.
I'm not the biggest fantasy reader, so I need Lauren for moral support!
BLOG NEWS: I'm working on some themed weeks! I don't usually do things like that, for the same reason that I don't always adequately accessorize in real life: it takes extra effort and coordination. But I'm excited about the theme I'm working on, which is:
SPIES, ALTER EGOS AND SERIAL KILLERS!

I'm excited. I hope you'll stop by and check some of the posts out!
Have a great weekend and a great week of reading! Leave me a comment so I can visit you back :)
Ooh, I love high fantasy so I was looking forward to reading Queen of Tearling. I had issues with it (especially in regards to the mc) but strangely I enjoyed it overall.
ReplyDelete"SPIES, ALTER EGOS AND SERIAL KILLERS!"
^ I like this theme! Looking forward to your posts. :D
I've definitely seen some mixed reviews, and I'm skeptical because of all the hype. I'm always amused when the pubs announce that something is the Next Big Thing before anyone has even read it yet!
DeleteVery intrigued about this theme, Jen! Sounds pretty badass and I hope it works out well for you! :)
ReplyDeleteAimee @ Read by the Undead
With serial killers, how can it? Heh-heh-heh.
DeleteYour blog is awesome, BTW. How did I not know about it until now??
I'm intigued by The Queen of the Tearling now! Off to check it out ☺
ReplyDeleteI should have added a link but was in a rush last night. I will add one!
DeleteThe Queen of the Tearling looks very interesting. It sounds like something that I would enjoy.

Request it!!!
DeleteHalf Bad is on my wish list. I'm intrigued by its synopsis and the reviews it's already gotten!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see what you think!
DeleteThere's lots of hype surrounding TEARLING, but I've heard mixed reviews so far... Still, I plan on reading it because it does sound epic. Happy reading!
ReplyDeletelooks good
ReplyDeleteOh that's cool- I'm so excited for what posts you've come up with! I have this thing for spy books- Two Spies and a Lie and Also Known As, anyone? :) And we need more books with serial killers- the only one I've read was Dear Killer, and it was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh...that sounds beyond awesome! I CAN'T WAIT. Though I do agree that theming weeks is exhausting. Last year I did a whole MONTH (stupid, stupid) of giveaways/interviews/games and all that and it was absolutely exhausting. Never again, I told myself while I'm plotting stuff for this year. XD Sucker for punishment. I loved your half-and-half review of Half Bad. That was really clever. :)
ReplyDeleteThemed weeks sound fun! I try to do a Halloween themed month in October, but other than that....I'm not really organized enough to do anything else. :) I can't wait to see what you've got going on there!

Ohhh I love the idea of theme weeks!! I can't wait to see. Half Bad sounds really good. I am not much of a fantasy reader and have never heard of The Queen of the Tearling. It has a really pretty cover.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea for the themed weeks. Enjoy your week, and happy reading...
ReplyDeleteGreat books Jen! I'm looking forward to your themed weeks, there are always interesting and unique.

ReplyDeleteHappy reading and thanks for the giveaway! My STS
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time seeing The Queen of the Tearling but I'm definitely going to put this on my TBR. I love fantasy novels!
ReplyDeleteI have seen The Queen Of the Teraling around. Is it ant good?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of Spies, Alter Ego's and Serial Killers so I will definitely stop by for this.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and Happy Reading!
