Extra! Extra! The One, a Picnic, and some new books!

Extra! Extra! is my weekend post featuring brand new additions to my TBR pile as well as a summary of what's new on the blog.

This weekend I'm linking to Stacking the Shelves @ Tynga's Reviews or to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

EXCITING EVENT:

If you are a blogger attending BEA later this month, be sure to make time for the Second Annual BEA Book Blogger Picnic on Friday, May 30 from 6-8 pm.  After you've spent hours locked up in the Javits center without any fresh air or contact with the outside world, you will be thrilled to delight in the beauty that is Central Park, meet other bloggers, and decompress.  This event is free -- bring snacks to share if you want, but if not, that's fine -- just come and join the fun!

Where: we'll be in Central Park on the lawn just outside the Heckscher Playground, which is at the far southwest corner of the Park.

I should be there (long, complicated story!)  and if not, you will still meet my fabulous and friendly co-hosts, Alexa of Alexa Loves Books, Andrea of the Overstuffed Bookcase and Katelyn of Tales of Books and Bands.  You can spot us by looking for these fab pink shirts. Or tweet us. We'll have our phones and will be using hashtag #BEABloggerPicnic.

This is a totally stress-free, low-key event, so you are welcome to bring family members (Andrea's husband just might show up with cake again) and come and leave whenever you need to.

Then, we're hosting one more event on Saturday (I am unlikely to be at this one, but you never know!)

BEA Blogger Meet and Drink on Saturday May 21 from 8-10 pm

Where: Tir Na Nog Irish Bar & Grill, 315 W 39th St., between 8th & 9th Ave. There are two Tir Na Nogs in Manhattan, so make sure you go to the one on 39th!  We will be in the front bar area, but just ask for the book blogger group if you're not sure where we are!

When: Saturday, May 31, 8-10pm. Again, this is a casual drop-in kind of event, so it's okay to come late or leave early!

Follow #BBMeetandDrink for info and updates!

GIVEAWAYS:

This weekend only, enter to win this special Barnes and Noble edition of The One, which contains a poster and a bonus scene! This one is US only, sorry!  But...

... it's also the last days to enter Hot Off the Presses and also my stop on the Fairytale Fortnight Hop. Open internationally!

NEW BOOKS:

I bought What I Thought Was True and can't wait to check that one out.
I love mythology-themed books, so I'm excited about Only Everything.
And I can't wait to try All Lined Up.

What's new with you? Tell me in comments and leave me a link so I can visit you back :)

  4. Attending BEA for the first time this year and my friends and I are hoping to come to the picnic. I confess though that it's a little daunting, different country and all. Hopefully we'll make it :)

  5. I really wish I could join in with the BEA Blogger picnic! Central Park is one of my favourite places in the world but unfortunately I'm stuck in the UK for the time being. I'm new to the book blogging community and it's so wonderful to see everyone clubbing together for give aways and discussions! I hope you all have an amazing time xo

  6. I wish I was going to BEA :-( I really wanted to save up to attend this year but it just didn't happen. Maybe next year. I so badly wanted to get The Return by Jennifer L. Armentrout there cause I'm a huge Seth fan. I'm not sure who else is there as I try to avoid knowing so I won't be sad lol but I saw the author mention that. I recently got What I Thought Was True as well and I"m very excited. I'm reading The Geography of You and Me right now but then I think I will start that one.
