Extra! Extra! I've Got Mail!

Extra! Extra!

Extra! Extra! is my weekend post featuring brand new additions to my TBR pile as well as a summary of what's new on the blog.

This weekend I'm linking to Stacking the Shelves @ Tynga's Reviews or to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

NEW BOOKS:

I don't get tons of ARCs in the mail; I get most of my books from NetGalley and Edelweiss. But this week was a very exciting mail week:

First, I was invited to be part of the Belzhar promotion, so I received an ARC and a little red book in the mail. More on that soon. Then, I got I Want It That Way, the first of the Ann Aguirre NA series of books with titles based on 90s songs (!) Then, I got The Secret Sky, a YA novel set in Afghanistan. I also got The Cure for Dreaming, which I've been very excited to read. Last but not least, next up on my TBR is Sisters' Fate, the final book in the Cahill Witch trilogy.

For more information, check out these links to Goodreads:

Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer (Dutton, September 30)
I Want It That Way by Ann Aguirre (Harlequin, August 26)
The Secret Sky by Atia Abawi (Philomel, September 2)
The Cure for Dreaming by Cat Winters (Amulet, October 14)
Sisters' Fate by Jessica Spotswood (Putnam, August 14)

Thanks so much to Penguin Young Readers, Harlequin, and Abrams/Amulet!

OTHER NEWS:

On August 20, I'll be participating in the Clear Your Shelves Giveaway Hop, and boy do I need to do that, so stay tuned :)

Hope you're having a great weekend. If you stop by, please leave me a link so I can visit you back!

  10. Ever since I've seen the title I Want it That Way I wondered if it's based on the song title! Now I know. Gosh boys were really popular then. Anyhow you've got some really amazing books and I really hope you'll enjoy them. Great post, Jen :)

  11. I'd honestly never heard of Belzhar until Hafsah was giving it away! I don't know much about it but from the popularity of her Twitter giveaway, it must be high in demand O_O I hope you love it! And I really liked I Want It That Way! Coming from someone who hates most of the NA contemporary romance novels she reads D: I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

    Have a fabulous weekend, Jen!

  13. I haven't even heard of most of these! Except Balzhar which I was asked if I wanted to review but never got the book...lol Publicists are busy people and I don't mind. STILL. Nice red covers this week. ;)
Ahh, clearing shelves. I keep getting tempted to do that, except postage in Australia is a killer for expense. STILL. I feel bad for holding onto books I hated when I know other people would love them. ^-^

  20. I'm dying to get Sisters' Fate in my hands! Only a few more days now! :D The Cure for Dreaming is another book I'm looking forward to. I didn't request it on NG, because I'd likely get rejected, and I'm not prepared to take that kind of blow. :P

Great haul, Jen! I hope you have a lovely week. :)
