Extra! Extra! Where Did Summer Go?

Extra! Extra!

Extra! Extra! is my weekend post featuring brand new additions to my TBR pile as well as a summary of what's new on the blog.

This weekend I'm linking to Stacking the Shelves @ Tynga's Reviews or to Sunday Post hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

NEW BOOKS!

Thanks SO much to Scholastic and Random House for these first two :)

For Real by Alison Cherry
Sealed With a Lie by Kat Carlton

WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?

On Monday, I reviewed Heir of Fire and explained why, though it's a super-amazing, incredibly well-written book, I feel like this series and I might need to part ways :(

On Thursday, I discussed Liar books -- their history in YA and why I think they've exploded over the past few years. And WHAT was with that PLL finale?!?!

WHAT WILL I BE UP TO NEXT WEEK?

An "in defense" review of Starry Night by Isabel Gillies

My kickoff to my super-mysterious red notebook for the #FallIntoBelzhar campaign...

My (sad) thoughts about potentially kickass YA girls who get sidetracked by pretty boys and pretty dresses...

What are you doing for the end of summer? (In the northern hemisphere at least...)

Comments

  1. Oooh, very excited about the mysterious red notebook! Plus, I need to find time to read Belzhar, it's just sitting on my shelf, glaring at me.

lol, about you breaking up with the Throne of Glass series, since it's on my Sept Audio Book TBR list (I'm trying to set specific goals with my audio books so that I STOP BUYING ALL THE AUDIO BOOKS- damn those daily deals!).

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Starry Night, since that's a book I keep flip flopping on, do I or don't I want to read it.

Sorry the end of summer came too soon, but that's because Fall was desperate to get to me. It's all my fault, and my love of all things pumpkin flavored and colored. I made Summer end. ;)

  2. Nice haul. It does seem like Summer went through fast. Heir of Fire has gotten a lot of mixed reviews, both positive and negative. I'm hoping that you have a great weekend.

  5. Ahh this summer went by SO FAST. It's not fair *cries* haha but I still plan to read as much as possible for as long as possible until work gets to be too much. Plus, I live in California so it feels like summer until like December... ;)

  6. YOU NEED TO PART WAYS WITH HEIR OF FIRE?! What the what D: I need to read this review of yours... I don't think I've read that yet and I am curious why!

In any ase, I am so looking forward to your thoughts about these kickass awesome YA girls who get sidetracked. I've seen some of em in the books I read and I think I facepalm every. single. time.

  7. OH WOW I can't believe you were disappointed with Heir of Fire, I must read your review now! It makes me sad because it's such an amazing series! Aside from that, I have read it already and I still don't know how I feel about it - it was so different to the first 2 books but a lot more epic in a sense. I didn't expect there to be new characters introduced at this stage.

  10. Our end of Summer ended in August. My kids have been in school for a month. It is definitely not the end of Summer in AZ, but summer vacation is done :(. I always look forward to your posts, this weeks list is no exception :)
