Trending Thursday: Where the Boys (and Girls) Are

Welcome to Trending Thursday, a periodic feature in which I discuss some sort of trend in YA.  Today I'm talking about titles again. Is it me or are there an awful lot of boys and girls in YA titles?

At first I thought one gender was more represented than the other, but as I began to look for examples, I'm not so sure.

Ladies first...

And now for the boys....

  1. I love this feature. I never realize how prevalent a trend is until you put them all together!

  3. Interesting. I don't think "Man" and "Woman" are ever really used in adult book titles. Perhaps girl and boy are used to make sure people know the books are YA?
